Still a lot of people that won't (yet) trust the cloud for a variety of reasons.

As far as Mom ... have her give me a call :)

Re: Google and Apple didn't derail Windows 7

To me, Windows 7 represents a huge step forward for Microsoft, but I'm still loving my OSX - and I probably will never buy a Windows box again. Now that I'm outsourcing all my IT infrastructure to cloud service providers, I won't even buy a PC for servers. Most of my virtual machines are running on Linux. A very small percent of my apps in the cloud will be running Windows servers for C# .net capabilities.

In short - Windows just isn't part of my world anymore. So while I'm excited about the improvements - the personal impact to me will be relatively small. And when Mom calls to get help with her computer, my answer will be, "I don't know, Mom. I use Mac." ;)

Re: Google and Apple didn't derail Windows 7

Looking forward to 7.
I was always a Windows fan then, for a few years, I worked on Macs. Didn't love them till OS X.
Still, the price premium continues and I don't see how Apple keeps beating sales exp. Great for them but the price difference compared to PCs just doesn't seem worth it and, with 7, it seems Macs should be even less appealing.
